Generation after generation

the sins of fathers and mothers

visit, haunt, control their children

they grow, keep it moving

to the next generation…..

no end in sight,

addictions, dysfunction, rage and pain

six out of ten, victims of parents’ sins

alcohol destroys, blinding denial

to the next generation it goes on…never-ending its cycle of battles

wars within, wars without

MAKES ME WANT TO SHOUT TO HIDE TO DIE

the shame, worn like a badge of courage

if only you could see the patches of despair and self loathing,

echoing blame shouts loud inside of your head making you wish you were dead

STEP OUT, ROCK THE FAMILY BOAT

break loose its mooring anchor

that is the healing step, be first

not last, do it fast, lest you lost the courage to live
